Why we plan to build it
Most financial controls live inside a single system. Your accounting software checks that debits equal credits. Your CRM checks that a deal has an owner and a stage. What neither system checks is whether the other one agrees with it, and that gap is where errors and deliberate manipulation can go unnoticed.
An invoice with no deal behind it, a deal value that doesn't match what was billed, a customer record that exists in one system and not the other: none of these trigger an alert in a system that only looks at itself. Fraud Assurance is being designed to find them.
What Fraud Assurance will look for
Fraud Assurance will compare systems continuously and flag records where they disagree. It will not decide that something is fraud. It will show where the evidence doesn't line up so a person can decide whether it matters. The planned checks include:
- Amount mismatches: the value billed differs from the value agreed.
- Orphan invoices: an invoice in the ledger with no matching deal in the CRM.
- Identity mismatches: a customer or supplier that appears in only one system, or appears twice.
- Unusual patterns: records whose amounts, dates or behaviour stand out from the norm.
Built on the engine that is live today
Fraud Assurance will reuse the three-layer matching engine that already runs Revenue Assurance for HubSpot and Xero: direct ID matching, semantic matching and heuristic matching. Some of the mismatches it will focus on, like amount differences and orphan invoices, are already flagged by Revenue Assurance today.
It will keep the same governance model: read-only access, a confidence score and evidence for every flag, and a person on your team reviewing each one before anything happens. Fraud is a serious word, and it should never be applied by software alone.
Where things stand
Fraud Assurance is on our roadmap and is open to design partners. It is not generally available, and we won't give a release date until it's ready. Join the waitlist below to shape what we build and be told when it launches.
If you run HubSpot and Xero, Revenue Assurance is available now and already surfaces cross-system mismatches such as orphan invoices and amount differences.
